Who doesn't love a good book and an opportunity to discuss and explore ideas?

The purpose of this health book club is to help you build a sense of competence and empowerment when it comes to your health.

Not only will you be building a health foundation,  you will also have a guide (me) to help you explore the concepts and the practical applications of the information. At times, our book club meeting will include a guest panelist or the author of our book choice. By participating, you will also be part of a community of like-minded people. We can support and learn from one another. How great is that?

If you love to learn and are interested in both the science and the spirit of nourishment, then you just have to participate.

It's free. It's virtual, so you can participate in your jammies.

For right now, we are shooting for one book every two months.

DRUM ROLL, PLEASE!

Our fourth book club selection will be The End of Alzheimer's: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline by Dale E. Bredesen, MD.

According to Jeffrey Bland PhD, the founder of the prestigious Institute for Functional Medicine "...Breseden is a world-class neuroscientist-neurologist who through his innovative and exacting research has discovered a safe and effective approach to the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease that will revolutionize the way we think about the disease."

Based on his own research and practice, Breseden has found that Alzheimer's can not only be prevented, but in some cases reversed. Dr. Breseden has developed a research-based protocol which addresses ways to rebalance the mechanisms that drive Alzheimer's and cognitive decline. Interestingly enough, Alzheimer's isn't all about plaque, but 36 metabolic factors the drive the brain to "down-size."

Understanding, tracking and addressing 36 different metabolic factors is not for the faint of heart, and so most laypeople need the support of Breseden trained practitioners.

Thankfully, we have Myrto Ashe MD, trained in the Breseden Protocol, to talk us through the book, answer our questions and help us determine our next best steps.
