This process is not a diet or cleanse because you cannot do it wrong. It's about learning about your body, not trying to fix it.
Dieting is a failed paradigm. It teaches us that our bodies need to be controlled rather than trusted.
Instead of overriding your body's needs during this month, you will be spending a concentrated time tuning in to how eating and foods make you feel. What helps you cultivate inner stability? What hinders it?
We'll begin by adding in self-care practices that enhance your experience in a body.
During this program, if you care to also reduce or eliminate certain foods or ingredients, you can do that too. Reduction and elimination may be helpful IF YOU CAN DO IT WITH KINDNESS AND CURIOSITY.
Part of this experiment will be to consider the possibility of food sensitivities that can make your body more reactive and less stable. Identifying these can be so helpful in resolving chronic digestive, mood, hormonal, skin and pain issues. We'll be taking a gentle look at the foods that take us out of our bodies (like sugar, Doritos, caffeine and alcohol).
This is not a calorie restrictive or portion measuring program. You will be encouraged to eat when you are hungry. There will be no white knuckling or fighting against your body, because ultimately, restriction causes a subsequent backlash, which is your body's way of reestablishing balance.
Throughout our month, you will eat from a wide variety of nourishing, tasty whole foods. You will be given a collection of recipes you can use to expand your repertoire in the kitchen.
This is a month of experimentation, and it doesn't include a perscriptive eating plan. I will provide recipes for you to enjoy. You can experiment with my recipes, or just include some of them into your rotation.
The plan: discovering what you love to eat and what makes your body feel great.
This discovery takes a significant amount of unlearning of our rule oriented restriction-loving diet conditioning.
There is no such thing as a “one size fits all” way of eating. We are a sum total of our beliefs, experiences, identities, attitudes and unique biologies. Each of us gets to determine how best to nourish our own bodies.
Our program is designed to meet you at your starting point with you as the ultimate expert of your body and guide you in making supportive and flexible adjustments to your current nourishment practices.
The goal: more peace and more trust in your body.
Keep in mind that there are different tracks of participation. We will all participate in the "Nourishment" track.
For those participants who want to determine if food sensitivities are undermining their well-being (in the form of chronic symptoms), they can choose to also participate in the "Testing" track. Even there, there are choices to be made about what participants want to experiment with. The goal here is to reduce agitation and inflammation in the body that could be causing inflamed moods, skin and joints, or causing anxiety, digestive issues and energy loss.
During the month participants will learn how to re-introduce any eliminated foods back into your diet to find out how they are affected. The results can be significant and liberatory.
You can expect to
- learn how to enjoy your body and foods without messages of restriction and morality;
- learn how to identify and divest from the messages of diet culture;
- learn how to listen more lovingly and skillfully to your body's needs;
- learn techniques that help you create a climate of greater stability and ease in your body;
- build skills and confidence around nourishment, meal prep, and cooking;
- become your own expert about what your body needs rather than getting lured into every food/diet trend;
- identify unknown food sensitivities and thus get to the bottom of chronic symptoms such as headaches, anxiety, bloating and digestive distress;
- eat really good food and enjoy it.
The course is built in a program called Ruzuku. It is an online program so you will be able to access the materials from wherever you are.
You will also be added to a closed Facebook group where you can be a part of an encouraging conversation, additional tips via FB live, and recipe shares.
You will have access to the course materials for 6 months. This will allow you to start at a different times if life gets in the way or if you want to repeat the program. This access will also allow you to check back in with the content as you continue your journey nourishing your beautiful body.
Supplements are not required.

We will talk about movement as an important aspect of self-care. We will focus on pleasurable ways to move your body as opposed to exercise to change the shape of your body. All abilities supported.
